Well we had another appointment today, and I'm still at 1 cm. She offered to induce us next week though if we wanted, which surprised me. I didn't think they would induce until after I was already late or if there was something wrong health wise, but she said the baby will be perfectly healthy by then and we can induce on Christmas night if we'd like to. We've talked about it a lot and have decided that if he's not here by then naturally, we're going to go ahead and give him a little push (no pun intended). Isn't that so exciting?! So we will have a baby within the week!!!
I felt a little guilty at first when I was thinking about inducing, I don't really want to push him until he's ready. But after talking to my momma, I realized that in the long run it won't matter how he got here, but that he's here, and how I mother him will matter far more than how I birth him. We are both very ready to meet him and very excited for all that is going to come.
So, we have another appointment on Wednesday and will confirm everything then. At this point, we will plan on going into the hospital on Christmas evening to be induced, and he should be here on the day after!
Of course if something should happen sooner I will be sure to let everyone know!

37 weeks

Today I am 37 weeks along, I can't believe he's almost here! We had another dr. appt on Friday, and she is still sticking with the idea that he'll be here within the next week and a half to two weeks (yay!). She said I haven't dilated any more (still 1 cm) but things are getting into gear and we should be expecting to see him soon, definitely before January. According to the ultrasound, he is measuring about 6.5 lbs and his head is still in the "normal" range (phew). We are so anxious to finally meet him, but we're just trying to take things one day at a time. I feel great and have no major complaints, aside from not sleeping too much. I sleep for about 4-5 hours and then am up at 2 or 3 every morning, but I suppose that's all in preparation for Travis. My bag is packed, we have done our hospital tour and an infant CPR class, and next week is the Caring for Baby class, to brush up on our skills. This is the latest picture of me at 9 months, may be the last one before we bring home our little man!

I almost forgot--some people have been asking if/where we are registered so I thought I'd post this here just in case anyone wants to know. We are registered under Rumschik at WalMart.com, BabyDepot.com and BabiesRUs.com.
Also, if you want to be sure you're in the know with the happenings here, it might be good to sign up as a follower to this blog, that way you'll be notified when things happen and you don't have to keep checking in when there's no updates.
Thanks for stopping by!

2 to 3 weeks left!

Well we had another doctor's visit today, and after an exam she says it will only be about 2 to 3 more weeks until little Travis arrives! This really made it a reality for us and we are even more excited (and a little more anxious) to meet him now! We will have weekly appointments from this point forward so I'll be sure to keep you all in the loop!

34 weeks

So tomorrow I'll be 34 weeks, and I just wanted to give an update on where things are now. Earlier this week we went for an ultrasound to measure the baby again as there was some concern that he was really big for his stage. He's back on track now and weighing in at 5 lbs 1 oz. (Phew). His head is also in the "normal" range so far, which is a relief for me coming from The Big Head Family. But that could always change.
I am feeling fantastic for the most part, some days I tire more easily than others, but that is really my only complaint. Steve and I are just very excited to meet our little boy!
We have another appointment on December 4th so there will be more updates after that, unless of course something happens in the meantime!

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! I have never done this before and never thought I would, but my friend Amy talked me into it after showing me a blog that her pregnant cousin made to keep her friends and family in the loop. I thought this might be nice for my family in Buffalo to keep tabs on me if they're interested.
I put a bunch of pictures on here, of me, of the baby so far, and of the nursery, so be sure to go to all the pages if you want to see the older pictures.
I'll also be putting new posts up as we get updates so stay tuned if you want to be in the know!
Thanks for stopping by and I can't wait for everyone to meet Travis!
xoxo
